Mothell opened in 1974 as a roadside motel for late arrivals, overnight stays, and guests passing through after dark.
For decades, it operated as a familiar stop along the old route, with simple rooms, front desk check-in, and parking outside each door.
In 2008, the motel was closed under circumstances that were never clearly explained. It remained shut for years, leaving behind records, room keys, and parts of the property that were never fully accounted for.
In 2026, Mothell reopened under new management. A limited number of rooms have been restored and returned to service, while other parts are still being renovated.
